Abstract

This is an essay on emotions according to the relational approach proposed by the scholar Sara Ahmed. The proposal is to bring Ahmed's study closer to Brazilian soap operas, understanding, above all, how emotions present in television plots can acquire educational characteristics. We borrow the thoughts of educator Edgar Morin and highlight the use of suffering in soap operas, using the approach of sociologist Luc Boltanski
