Piracy is a sin!

Abstract

This paper discusses piracy in the light of the notion of stealing as appropriation of concepts proposed by Gilles Deleuze and Clair Parnet; and the colonized/colonizer asymmetry elaborated by Ivan da Costa Marques who proposes to perceive those destined to follow the direction of a construction and those that dictate the direction of a construction. Following Kavita Phillip, for whom the figure of the pirate functions as the one of a subordinate who inverts the power relations, the intention of this text is to highlight the mechanisms of restraintion imposed by the colonizer on the spaces of proposition of the colonized and to decriminalize forms of contemporary articulations that enable disruptions in the networks of the great monopolies. This analysis embraces the field of arts and culture, science and technological innovation.
