O The role of mathematics in the relationship of man with reality: some questions and reflections
Abstract
The article deals with the first reflections of a thesis that proposes to present mathematics as a production of the human mind, which is strongly influenced by factors intrinsic to man, such as cultural and social aspects, among others. For this, we bring some questions about the role of mathematics in the relationship of man with reality. In this context, the objective of the present study is to show how we perceive human interactions with mathematics in the most different scenarios and the position it occupies in each of them. The work highlights mathematics as an interesting invention of man in the search for representation of reality, which ended up becoming associated with ideas of truth and certainty about the things of the world.
