A look at women's access, belonging and permanence as a researcher in Brazil between 2001 and 2015
Abstract
The social representation of women is a fact discussed in all human history. Its social locus is confused with its activities, historically imposed. The purpose of this report is to observe how gender issues are reflected in the access, belonging and permanence of researchers in Brazil, based on official data on the distribution of scholarships and research. Through the analysis of the quantitative distribution of scholarships, from official research promotion agencies in Brazil, between 2001 and 2015, we seek to draw a profile of this path, the descriptors chosen for the analysis were the scholarship modalities and the gender. The behavior suggests that between the undergraduate and professional performance stages there are factors that influenced the decrease in female participation in the distribution of scholarships.
